Toy Swap (Ce l’ho ce l’ho mi manca) an event organised by Roma Family Welcome.
The event the first of its kind in Italy took place on 13th of April in Prati, Rome. It was organised by Priscilla and Francesca the two mum entrepreneurs behind Roma Family Welcome.

The event was inspired by a similar one organised in Madrid annually at the cultural centre La Casa Encendida called Sile Nole, a social initiative to teach children about responsible consumption, recycling and sustainability.
The idea is simple and age old, bartering of toys. Children bring toys with them they no longer want but are still in a good condition and exchange them with others.
This toy swap was held in Il Circolo Ricreativo Caracciolo that is run by Cultural Association CARAMATTINA.
It was a great event for young and small, throughout the day there were work shops in cooking for kids, storytelling, professional photo shoot, massage and stalls selling bespoke children’s clothes. I was helping out on a stall flogging Scandinavian kids wear.
There were so many lovely stalls; cute shoes from Babidetta, etheral clothes from Chiara Neri, I got a pair of handmade trousers for the 2 year old from the talanted Filou Création. Of course as we are in Italy there is amazing food with stalls like Flaminia Cesa’s Chef a Porter, and sweets from Dolce Alice.
The idea of a toy swapping event is such a nice one, it teaches kids about the value of things and about sharing with others. We came away with a few new favourite toys and left some behind.
